Overview
Horizon Client is a trusted legacy solution in the Omnissa product lineup — redesigned from the ground up. It enables end users to connect to virtual desktops from any device, anywhere, across Windows, macOS, iOS, Android, Linux, and Chrome OS.
The product serves enterprise IT teams and end users in organisations with tens of thousands of seats, where even small friction in the daily login-and-connect workflow compounds at scale.
The Challenge
The core problem was the absence of a unified design system. This created inconsistent experiences across platforms and engineering inefficiencies due to the lack of a single source of truth. We needed to understand how these problems affected users before proposing any solution.
"Inconsistency across six platforms wasn't just a visual problem — it created real cognitive load for IT admins managing fleets across devices."
Our Approach
We began with a comprehensive design audit — reviewing navigation patterns, action consistency, system feedback, and accessibility — using data to establish a clear baseline.
We partnered with the Research team to align stakeholders on a research plan focused on real user pain points. In parallel, we proposed a phased design system approach that balanced quick wins with long-term investment, driving immediate improvements while building a scalable, consistent, and accessible experience across all platforms.
My Role
Owned end-to-end design across all six platforms, coordinating with 4 engineering pods.
Defined token structure, component APIs, and documentation strategy.
Led WCAG AA audit and remediation across all surfaces, achieving full compliance.
Facilitated cross-functional design reviews with Product, Engineering, and Legal.
